United States 2017: CRHQ Case Study

In late 2017, a wave of grassroots, volunteer-driven disaster response initiatives emerged in order to support hurricane rescue and relief efforts across the southeastern United States and surrounding waters.

They worked alongside one another—some on the ground, others online—to facilitate both face-to-face support for disaster victims and situational awareness for emergency response teams.

This case study documents the inner workings of one such initiative: CrowdRescueHQ, otherwise known as CRHQ.
